About Us

OUR PURPOSE:

  1. The purposes of the society are to act as an Auxiliary to B.C.’s Children’s Hospital, a part of Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia, by:

a) providing for the comfort, ease & welfare of children and youth and their families at B.C.’s Children’s Hospital;

b) raising money for such purposes;

c) carrying out such purposes in accordance with policies of Children’s & Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia;

d) carrying on such activities as may be requested or authorized from time to time by the Board of Directors of Children’s & Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia or the Board of Directors of British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital Foundation.

  1. Clauses 1 and 2 are alterable upon the prior written approval of the board of directors of Children’s & Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia and in compliance with the requirements of the Society Act.  The provisions of this clause are unalterable.
  1. Upon the winding up or dissolution of the society, the assets remaining after the payment of all costs, charges and expenses properly incurred in the winding up, including the remuneration of a liquidator, and after payment of the debts of the society, shall be distributed to a charitable organization or organizations in Canada, registered under the provision of the Income Tax Act (Canada) which shall be designated by the board of directors of Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia. Any such assets remaining which had originally been provided for specific purposes shall, wherever possible, be distributed to a charitable organization registered under the provisions of the Income Tax Act (Canada) carrying on work of a similar nature to such specific purposes.  The provisions of this clause are unalterable.
